The Odessa Chamber of Commerce will host the 8th annual Basin BBQ Blowout on Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 5-8 pm at the Ector County Coliseum fairgrounds. This event marks the second year at the coliseum, and chamber organizers are hopeful that it will be one of the largest crowds to date.

“We enjoy the BBQ Blowout because it is a great opportunity to interact with the community and network with other business owners at the same time,” said Kirk Strahan, past participant in the annual BBQ event and local real estate owner. “It’s a very great environment which helps people relax. We are all very busy right now and the BBQ Blowout is the perfect way to take a break and still get a little work done.”

This year’s entertainment will include a live performance from Los Crazy Guys. The event is a family-friendly occasion with a variety of BBQ taste samples available to public, while supplies last. The Chamber expects to draw more than 1,000 attendees to this event and is still needing additional cook teams.

“All meat for the cooking teams is provided by Sysco and Market Street/Albertsons,” said Lynn Van Amburgh, director of operations for the Odessa Chamber of Commerce. “We are thankful for all our sponsors and the businesses that allow their employees the chance to come out and participate in this annual event.”

Ticketing will be handled by the Odessa Jackalopes and can be purchased online at or at the gate. General admission is $25, $10 for children ages 8-12, and free for kids 7 and under.
