Program Instructor (HVAC)

This position is responsible for instructing program students for the Permian Basin’s new HVAC training program. This program is designed to provide basic, entry-level skills to equip students to enter the HVAC industry using the provided curriculum. Program instruction is provided in person in Midland, Odessa, and regionally throughout the Permian Basin (as determined by the program calendar).
Requirements

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION: Qualified applicants will possess:

  • Valid driver license
  • Contractor License issued by Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) (Class A preferred)
  • EPA 608 Universal license ? OSHA-10 or OSHA-30 credential preferred
  • Minimum of three years of experience in the HVAC/construction industry
  • Experienced in training, teaching, onboarding, or supervising new employees (formally or informally)
  • Highly self-motivated requiring minimal supervision
  • Ability to be flexible, persistent, and confident ? Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • General working knowledge of internet-based software, including word processing software (Microsoft Word or Google Docs, virtual meeting software (Zoom), and e-mail software (Gmail)

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION: 

  • Experience teaching a vocational training program or experience teaching team members
  • Experience working with underserved populations, e.g., individuals experiencing homelessness, at-risk youth, justice-involved individuals, or other underserved groups
